ice

A load-bearing framework made from frozen water, including solid ice or packed snow, with or without discrete masonry blocks.

An ice framework is a load-bearing skeleton or structural support system for a built object which is composed of frozen water in any form, including solid ice or packed snow. Usually structures built of ice are simple constructions containing no other materials, but some finishing materials may be present.

While most larger ice-framed structures qualify as some form of masonry, smaller structures such as ice sculptures may be carved from a single block of ice or be built of packed snow without distinct masonry blocks.

Except in areas of perpetual cold weather, almost all ice structures are temporary constructions.
