region-themed zoo exhibit
A zoo habitat for housing and displaying animals of a particular continent or region.
A region-themed zoo exhibit is a habitat, enclosure, building, or area devoted to housing and showing animals from a particular continent or region of the world. Common examples include animals of Africa, Asia, or South America, although many zoos have exhibits on animals from the local region or specific countries. Exhibits of Australian animals are usually categorized as marsupial exhibits, unless they include a significant array of non-marsupial Australian fauna.
The geographic theme can be a continent, a country, or a smaller region. A local-fauna exhibit can qualify alongside a display of animals from elsewhere.
An ecosystem-themed exhibit is organized around an environment such as a desert or forest. The Australian-marsupial exception remains part of the region-themed definition.
