number of drive-in lanes

The number of defined pathways where a car can drive through a place in order to receive goods or services.

The number of drive-in lanes is the total quantity of distinct paths given to automobiles or other road vehicles to drive into or through a place, mainly for receipt of goods or services. This applies especially to such places as car washes, tollbooths, drive-thru banks, and fast-food restaurants.

Each distinct vehicle path provides access to goods or services. A lane can lead into a service position or continue through the site.

The paths are counted individually, rather than by the number of businesses or entrance openings. Several service lanes can share one vehicle portal.
