electric coils in floor

Heating is generated by passing electric current through heating coils embedded in the floors.

Electric floor coils form a heating system which warms interior spaces by passing electric current through coils embedded in the floor. The heating elements spread the heat source across a broad floor area.

This heating type is similar to hydronic floor heating; together they form variants of the more common term "radiant floor heating".

Electricity generates the heat in the embedded coils. Hydronic floor heating instead carries boiler heat through water pipes, despite sharing the broader radiant-floor-heating description.
