ski jumping
A facility for ski jumping, including outdoor launch slopes and indoor spaces accommodating the complete jump course.
Ski jumping is a sport in which a skier uses a calibrated slope to launch himself or herself into a long flight, landing again on a regular ski slope.
This usage can apply to outdoor ski jumping platforms as well as to indoor spaces where the entire course of a ski jump is meant to be carried out.
The designated facility provides for the jump and its landing course. Indoor installations are included alongside outdoor platforms; ordinary skiing areas have a separate usage.
