damaged by wind

Wind gusts, microbursts, or storms other than hurricanes and tornadoes cause damage to a structure.

A structure is damaged by wind when any intensity of regular wind strikes it and causes total or partial damage. This includes normal wind gusts, microbursts, and storms, but does not include wind from hurricanes or tornadoes, which are listed as separate agents of damage.

Wind intensity alone does not determine whether the event qualifies: wind must cause actual damage to all or part of the structure. Ordinary gusts and microbursts are within the stated scope.

Hurricane damage and tornado damage have separate definitions. Their wind effects remain excluded from this general wind event.
