A structure is damaged by a hurricane when a tropical storm of any kind (a hurricane, typhoon, or cyclone) damages the whole structure or any of its components through wind, rain, or consequent mold infestation.
The scope includes the tropical storms named in the definition without adding a minimum wind-speed threshold. Damage can affect a component while the rest of the structure remains standing.
Rain damage and consequent mold infestation are included along with direct wind damage. The general wind damage definition excludes hurricane winds.
