damaged by theft

Theft of valuable elements damages or destroys a structure, or diminishes its value.

A structure is damaged by theft when any valuable element intrinsic to it is removed illegally. This includes entire removal (in the case of a sculpture, for example) or removal of any valuable element intrinsic to a structure, such as artwork on it or any materials belonging to it.

The removed item must be intrinsic to the structure, such as its materials or artwork belonging to it. Theft of a visitor's unrelated personal possessions does not meet that condition.

Complete removal is included when the object itself is stolen, as in the case of a sculpture. The event is therefore not limited to damage left on a structure that remains at its site.
