number of observation gondolas
The quantity of moving cabs in or on a structure other than normal elevators which provide observation rides.
The number of observation gondolas belonging to a structure is the quantity of moving cabins in or on that structure - other than normal elevators - which carry passengers on observation rides. The gondolas usually move on guided tracks or pulleys. Cabins whose primary purpose is transportation, including panoramic (glass) elevators, do not count as observation gondolas.
The cabins are counted by their observation-ride purpose. A guided route or pulley arrangement is usual, but the form of guidance alone does not distinguish the ride from an elevator.
A panoramic elevator remains excluded when its main purpose is carrying people between destinations. A glass cab does not by itself make a transport elevator an observation gondola.
