fabric

A roof covering formed from suspended cloth or a similar flexible, tent-like sheet material.

A fabric roof is a building's upper surface which is built out of hanging or suspended cloth, or any similar flexible material such as canvas or burlap. Such roofs generally look like tents, but are used occasionally even for major public buildings such as airports.

The flexible material is hung or suspended to form the sheltering upper surface. A tent-like appearance can occur on a permanent building as well as on a small shelter.

Fiberglass sheeting is defined as hard reinforced plastic, while this covering is flexible fabric. A sheet membrane laid over a separate roof surface also has a different arrangement from suspended cloth forming the roof itself.
