steel sheeting
A roof covering of large steel sheets or slats joined together, often corrugated or shaped to resemble tiles.
Steel sheet roofing is constructed out of large pieces of rolled steel, usually in the form of sheets or slats which are welded, fitted, or nailed to each other. It does not refer to roofing made of small, overlapping steel shingles. The steel sheets are often corrugated to give them strength and to channel rainwater off of the roof.
Steel and other metal sheeting is sometimes formed and painted to simulate other roofing materials, such as ceramic tiles.
The large steel panel remains the defining unit even when it is painted or pressed to resemble ceramic tiles. Actual small overlapping steel plates belong to metal shingles, whose unit layout differs from sheet roofing.
