mineral flooring

Flooring materials consisting of natural or aggregate earth or mineral substances.

Mineral flooring refers to flooring materials formed of natural stone, raw earth, or industrial materials formed by bonding earthen materials together.

The material can be a single natural substance or a manufactured mixture containing mineral constituents. Cut stone and bonded mineral mixtures therefore belong to the same broad family even though their manufacture and installation differ.

More specific choices distinguish the mineral substance and its form of application. A mineral aggregate in a composite floor does not by itself establish whether the finished material is stone, concrete, or a decorative aggregate mixture; the composition of the installed surface supplies that distinction.
