Space for temporarily leaving automobiles and other roadworthy transport vehicles when they are not in use.
Parking areas are spaces used for the temporary storage of automobiles and other road-worthy transport vehicles. Most parking areas should be assigned to the usages public parking or private parking, but this unspecified parking usage can be assigned when the category is unclear.
The vehicles remain there between journeys. Space used for moving traffic has a different purpose from the area in which the vehicles are left.
Public and private parking differ in access conditions. Both retain the temporary vehicle-storage function described here.
